Teachers from around the country are taking action to protect our students, defend public education at all levels, and ensure that the profession of teaching and education is protected. In Los Angeles, teachers successfully went on strike to ensure lower class sizes. In New York, after the successful election of pro-education state senators, the Assembly and Senate both passed a bill to reform the broken and extremely unfair high stakes testing system that linked student test scores to teacher evaluations. While there is still work to do our teachers will continue to fight to protect our profession and our students. On Long Island teachers have been working diligently to provide the best education possible and it all starts with a dedication to this profession and community and parent involvement. We want to thank you for your continued support of some of the best schools in the nation.
